FUNCTIONAL FITNESS is about teaching large muscles to work together rather than isolating individual muscles and working them.

By focusing on functional fitness, we can address everyday life scenarios and help you overcome them with ease. Carrying your groceries up three flights of stairs, loading that 40 lbs bag of dog food onto a shopping cart, and even effortlessly leaving the comforts of your couch is all within your grasp.

The movements we safely teach in the gym are geared to making you a better version of you. All you need to do is show up. We create the workouts for you, review all of the movements of the day, and guide and assist you as you workout. Our community is like big family and we work hard to make it a place you look forward to visiting.

Remember that your health is an investment in what is important. Don’t treat it like an expense that can be avoided.

 

This is a “suitcase carry” and while we use kettlebells in the gym, you may have a car seat, groceries, or an actual suitcase in your everyday routines.

Group Classes

Here’s where you become the best version of yourself – in our classes! Led by our incredible coaches, our classes are designed to deliver three things – fun, great results and the best hour of your day. Expect lots of hands-on attention and new workout buddies cheering you on every step of the way.

You will experience constantly varied functional movements executed at high intensity. Our program combines strength training with a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) cardio workout. For this 1-hour class, you could be working on pull-ups, rowing, burpees and much more. Every workout is different so you never get bored!

Additionally, we scale each workout to your fitness level, so you get the maximum workout every time.

One-On-One Personal Training

Sometimes we need a little focused energy placed on a specific movement or goal we have to get over the edge. In one-on-one coaching sessions you’ll work with a coach, assess where you are and work toward improvement. You’ll leave with a plan, progressions and homework to progress in between sessions.

In today’s busy world, it’s hard to find the time to get regular exercise. So it’s important to make the most of the time you have. Bear State Gym offers a wide range of Personal Training to help you achieve your ideal body. Your personal trainer will develop an exercise regimen suited specifically for you.
